Prescott Residents Invited to Upcoming Town Hall Event Regarding Proposition 478
The City of Prescott will host a Public Safety and Proposition 478 Town Hall on Wednesday, Aug. 26, giving residents an opportunity to hear updates on the voter-approved measure and ask questions about its public safety initiatives. Hosted by Mayor Cathey Rusing and the Prescott City Council, the town hall will begin at 4 p.m. at The Federal, 101 W. Goodwin Street in downtown Prescott . City officials are expected to provide an update on the current status of Proposition 478, including how current costs compare with the plans and estimates presented when the measure was proposed. The town hall will feature presentations and information from City Manager Dallin Kimble, Fire Chief Holger Durre, Interim Police Chief Jon Brambila, and members of the City of Prescott’s Finance team. Community members will also have an opportunity to ask questions directly and learn more about the projects and initiatives associated with Proposition 478. Prescott voters approved Proposition 478 in November 2024. The measure established a dedicated transaction privilege tax to fund public safety needs, including projects and equipment for the Prescott Police and Fire departments.
