Gold leaf covers the lobby ceiling, and it glows over your head like the whole room is lit from above. That alone would be enough for me. But this place opened in 1929, back when jazz ruled the radio. The walls carry their own story. They’re built from patterned concrete blocks, cast specially for this building and stacked into geometric designs. The famous Frank Lloyd Wright connection comes up again and again when people talk about it. I like how the history doesn’t stay behind gla
